Seminole County Judge John L. Woodard III of Sanford was appointed to the Seminole
County bench by Governor Charlie Crist on May 2, 2007. Before his appointment, Judge Woodard was the sole practitioner of the Law Offices of John L. Woodard III in Fern Park and was of counsel to the Defense Group of Altamonte Springs. Judge Woodard began his law career as an assistant state attorney with the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court and later joined the firm Lubet, Sears & Woodard in Orlando. Woodard also worked as a partner with Lubet & Horwitz, and later with Lubet & Woodard P.A., before becoming a sole practitioner.
Judge Woodard received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his Law Degree from Wake Forest University. Judge Woodard handles mental health court and helped establish one of the first veterans courts in Central Florida.
